August Stamp Club Projects

Here are the projects we did for Stamp Club this month. Hope you enjoy them!

This first card has kind of a funny story to it. I CASED this from a gal at convention. I don't even know her name, but she was sitting at a table working on her swaps for convention, assembly line style. She had one completed, and was fervantly working on finishing the others. I wanted to swap with her but she wanted to finish up those she was working on. She nicely told me that she wanted to finish, and graciously allowed me to take a picture. Well some of us weSTAMPERS parked our bags at a nearby table, watching her, and HOPING she would hurry up and finish! LOL Are we crazy OR WHAT! I was going to offer to help her! LOL She never did finish while we were there, so I relied on my trusty digital camera to reproduce what she made. SO, if ANYONE got one of her originals that is similar to this one, please let me know so I can credit her! I did tweak it a little bit but basically the idea is the same. I think this card really showcases the designer paper. It is a great card do display new paper and stamp sets! I will probably do a Christmas card this style, too, to add to my sample stash.

RAK from Patti!

Look what the mailman brought this weeekend! Patti and I have become buddies after convention. We didn't swap with each other at convention, but both had some left after we got home, so we swapped through the mail! Here are the goodies I received. Isn't Patti creative and talented? Love her ideas....I'm especially loving this punch book she made. It is filled with all the punches Stampin' Up carries (except the NEW ones that just became available this week in the NEW CATALOG!) THANKS PATTI!!!

Patti hasn't entered the blogging world yet, but her AWESOME SCS Gallery can be found HERE.

Giftables for Upline/Downline for Convention

Upline/Downline Gifts

This is what I made for my upline and downline for convention. We always make small giftables and exchange the first night we are at convention. I made notebooks with a Zoofari/Wild About You theme. On the inside cover of the notebook is a list of all the classes we will be taking. Then the tabs on the right side also list the classes. This notebook is for taking notes during our classes.

I also made a pen with the same coordinating paper inside the barrel, with their name and the Stampin' Up logo on it. You can buy these pens (called Pix-Pens) at Ritz Camera. I have used these pens in classes in the past and you can put PICTURES in the barrell, too! LOVE them because when you get tired of the picture you just swap it out! These make awesome, personalized gifts!

Lastly, I made a beaded chain to hang off of your scissors so you can recognize your scissors at a glance. The end of it has shrinky dink plastic stamped with a stamp from "So Many Scallops", then shrunk down into a charm-size. I got one of these as a gift from my sideline, Chat (her blog can be found HERE. She gave us these a couple conventions ago, and I loved it so much, and thought my downline would enjoy them, too.

Even found some fruit striped gum!!

If YOU are interested in learning how YOU, TOO, can participate in all the fun, and become a Stampin' Up demonstrator, please contact me!!

CONVENTION HERE WE COME!

I will be attending Convention this week. I leave Wednesday and get back on Saturday. I am so excited I can hardly stand it!! Four of my downline are attending along with me, plus my upline and LOTS of sidelines!!

I won't be posting a lot while I am there (I want to enjoy every minute of being there and not be in the hotel room behind a computer!!) However, I am anxious to share with you when I get back in town.

I will post my swap cards and downline gifts after I leave so at least there is something to look at on here!!

See you again soon!

Tart and Tangy Gift

TART AND TANGY GIFT SET

I know, some of you are thinking, "if that girl uses Tart and Tangy one more time, I am going to throw up!" I'm sorry, I just can't help it, I LOVE this set!
My great friend's daughter turned 10 this year. She is a CHERRY-O-HOLIC! So I couldn't help but use this stamp set to create a gift for her. A few weeks before her birthday, her mom sent me this picture of her eating a cherry. She had no idea what I was brewing for her birthday, so HOW FITTING that it worked into my gift! LOL
The cherry goodies were found at JoAnn's. They are in the dollar bin. They are really nice plastic covered notebooks with cherries all over them. Pencils, coasters (some coasters have gingham like the one above, some have cherries over them), glass cleaner cloth, coupon book, LOTS of stuff!! Wish I would have found these during the Tart and Tangy promotion!! I also included in the gift some socks with cherries all over them (found those at Walgreens!) and Walgreens also carries cherry-shaped gummy candies, that look IDENTICAL to the cherry stamp (stemp and all!)
I get a little carried away with theme gifts.....this was so fun to put together!

July Class Projects

Here are the projects we did this month for our Girl's Day/Night Out. Sure had a fun time with you all, and it was fun to meet a lot of new ladies this month!!

Lemonade Card
The first card might look familiar, I made another one and gave it away as part of a prize for a game we played at our weSTAMP meeting. You can see that post HERE. I was totally inspired by Corrine, whose blog and card can be found HERE. Sure hope I run into her at convention, I get so many great ideas from her!! I love how you can get the frosted glass look with vellum!

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Priceless, Tart and Tangy

Paper: Vellum, YoYo Yellow, Whisper White, Spring Fling DP

Ink: Craft White, YoYo Yellow

Accessories: Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Corner Rounder, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punches

Ahoy Matey Card

This one might also look familar because I used this card idea for our weSTAMP swap last month. You can read the details on this card at this post HERE. I did simplify a few things for this group because it was getting to be a time-consuming card, but FUN!

Friendship Card

Recipe:

Stamp Set: All Holidays
Paper: Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Spring Fling DP
Ink: Pretty in Pink
Accessories: BoHo Punch, Non SU Punches, Brads, Cuttlebug, White Grosgrain Ribbon

It's Your Birthday Card

I was totally inspired by a card SOMEWHERE, thought it was Split Coast, but when I went back to look for it, I couldn't find it. If it looks like your design, please let me know so I can link it here. I must have ran across someone's blog. I CASED the layout, but changed the colors and stamp set. Gotta love those punches!!!!

Recipe:

Stamp Set: It's Your Birthday, Eat Cake
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Brilliant Blue, Whisper White
Ink: Green Galore, Brilliant Blue
Accessories: Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Ribbon, Square Punches

Pixie Stick Pinwheel

I CASED this idea from Dawn over at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. I love her blog and visit it quite often! How does she have time to do all of those blogs???? Her pinwheel VIDEO can be found HERE. I like to use these pinwheels instead of a bow on a gift. (Wrap the gift in plain color....) They are so fun and EASY to make!

There really isn't a recipe on here, just a 5" x 5" piece of designer two sided paper and a pixie stick!! Oh and you will need a brad, too. ENJOY!

July weSTAMP Meeting

Tonight was our monthly weSTAMP meeting.

We always start the evening off with a Make and Take. Nancy provided that for us this evening. We were so excited when we saw what was in store, a Box in a Bag! More pictures, and instructions for this awesome project can be found on Nancy's blog, iSTAMP, which is HERE.

What a treat to have Wendy Janson join us. Wendy is Pam Wood's upline. She lives out of state now, so it was really a blessing to meet her this evening! Wendy's blog can be found HERE. She even swapped with us! Here is her card. (Our theme was a full card using a background stamp or wheel).

Here are the rest of the swaps. I am so inspired by all our weSTAMPERS! I always look forward to these swaps!!!

Another highlight of the evening is the door prize!! I hate to admit this, but I won it AGAIN! WOOOHOOO! Pam won last month, so she made this month's doorprize. Isn't it GORGEOUS!!! I LOVE this, it is an altered card holder box. Look at the 3-D letters on the top! There are even dividers inside box so I can organize my cards. I absolutely LOVE it and can't wait to fill it with some more cards. PLUS it will look nice in my crafting area!! THANKS PAM!!

Mommy & Me Class

I wasn't even going to post these projects because they are SO SIMPLE and kiddish. We had such a great time today and really had fun with the Stampin' Up tattoos (see picture below LOL) So, here are our projects!!

The first project was a sucker holder. Inside is a Charms sucker. Those SUCKERS were hard to find! LOL Most places don't sell FLAT suckers, they are all the Blow Pops or Dum Dums. Thankfully I found these flat ones at the Dollar Tree store!

I used stamp sets Zoofari and Wild About You for this project.

This project is just a square 6x6 cardstock cut out, with the ears flopped down. I pre-scored the ear fold for them. You can't see it in the picture but if you lift up one of the puppies ears, it says "They say it's your birthday!"

Sets used: "Spot" dots are from Heartfelt Thanks and Little Pieces.

As soon as I saw these cute alterable sippy cups at Oriental Trading Company, I KNEW I had to have a Mommy and Me Class! These are so fun to work with. I just took out the paper that was already in there and decorated my own paper. You can add pictures or whatever you want inside! Then when you are done, the paper slips into the cup sleeve to protect it from water and VOILA! You have a very personalized cup!

Here is Brady all tattooed up!!

I LOVE what Brady did on my arm! I may just never shower again!!(Can you tell Brady took the picture? LOL) What a fun day we had.

You've GOT to check out this video!!!

I know this isn't stamp-related but I just had to post this video that brought tears to my eyes! It is a true story! (I even checked it out on Snopes.com) I took my background music off so it doesn't detract from the video. I will add my music again at a later date.

The son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'. The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'.
Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together.
One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.' To which, his father said 'Yes' too.For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island. Father and son went on to complete the race together.

Get out your tissue and check out the race.

weSTAMP Meeting

We had our monthly weSTAMPdownline meeting this evening. I love sharing what we make and swap!! Here are some pictures for you.

We always start the meeting off with a make and take. Here is a picture of a Gift Card Holder we made. This project was CASED from Jenn Balcer on SCS. Her tutorial can be found HERE. I tweaked the inside a little bit because I wanted to use the mini white bags. We also used a technique called "Rock and Roll". I don't do this technique quite the same as you find in most places. The way I do it is: ink up a solid type stamp with the lightest color first (in this case, the soft sky). Then take your dauber and daub it in the darker color (Old Olive), and daub lightly around the VERY EDGE of the stamp. I think this way gives a more subtle blending of the colors.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Priceless, Everyday Flexible Phrases
Paper: Soft Sky, Soft Sky DP, Old Olive, Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Ink: Soft Sky, Old Olive, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Old Olive Twill, Brad, Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Non SU white bag (on inside)

The swap theme for this month was a pocket card. Every month I say the same thing, "This was my favorite swapped cards." These ladies sure are talented and VERY creative!!!! We always end the evening with our swaps, and it is one of the highlights of the meetings!

So......here they are!!

Adriana's

Ginny's

Diana's

Mauna's

Terri's

Pam's

Nancy's

Here is the swap card I did with the recipe below:
Recipe:
Stamp Set: Ahoy Matey, Matey's Map Jumbo Wheel
Paper: Ruby Red, Creamy Caramel, Not Quite Navy
Ink: Basic Black, Ruby Red, Not Quite Navy, Going Gray, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: 1 3/8" Circle and Horizontal Slot Punch, Corner Rounder, Crystal Effects (on sword), Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelet, Dimensionals, Twine

For the "insert" I tore the edges and used daubers to ink the edges. Then I crinkled it all up to make it look like an old map.

We also played a little trivia game that Nancy put together. She had pictures of all the Stampin Up wheels and we had to identify the official names of them. Ginny got ALL OF THEM CORRECT except 2 of them!!!!!! Do you know there are 57 wheels???? Can you believe that?
Here is the door prize that she won for getting the most correct. It is a Tart and Tangy "lemon" themed gift.

I made a bag topper to fit the candy "Lemon Heads". I put a tag around some lemonade (can't really see it in this picture) and then I made a card that simulates a glass of lemonade. Sorry, this picture isn't the greatest. The yellow card part really is yoyo yellow, but it doesn't look very bright in the picture.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Priceless, Tart and Tangy
Paper: Vellum, YoYo Yellow, Spring Fling, Whisper White
Ink: VersamarkAccessories: White Embossing Powder, Dazzling Diamonds (simulates sugar at the top of the card)
Here are the dimensions of the card:

Vellum: 5” x 5 ¼” (Score at 2 ½ plus 1/8”)
Yellow: 5” x 4” (Score at 2 ½”)
Straw: 3/8” x 2 ¾”

Attach yellow cardstock to vellum in the middle with 2 SMALL glue dots that are wrapped right on the fold line of the yellow paper.

Run a strip with a 2-way glue pen on the upper edge of vellum to simulate sugar. Sprinkle Dazzline Diamonds on the glue

Cut lemon in half and hang over edge of glass. Put a tiny piece of tape behind it to keep it in place.

Glue straw in place, making sure as you position it that it will still fit in your envelope. (Can’t have it sticking up too far!)

In the picture on my blog, I used versamark ink and white embossing powder, with the heat tool. I did another card just using white craft ink on the vellum (saves time). I like both as well, but you can definitely see the embossed image better than the white craft ink.

We also draw for a door prize at our meetings. Last month I won the doorprize, which meant that I had to make it for this month. Here is the project I made. I got the pattern from Jackie Topa's blog, which can be found HERE.
This is a stationary giftable. Watch for an upcoming class on this!

Thanks for stopping by!
