Graduation Gifts

Here are some graduation gifts I made. I found the pattern on Nancy Morgan's blog, which can be found HERE. This is a fun project!! The graduation cap is actually a box, and the "check" ($ gift) looks like a diploma. The card is a small 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".

Jumping on the Bandwagon

I saw Julie's card HERE and knew I had to make one to add to my collection. This takes a bit of time, but is well worth it! It is made with LOTS of punches!

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Under the Stars, Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Paper: Brocade Blue, Naturals Ivory, Close to Cocoa, Kiwi Kiss, Pretty in Pink, Pacific Point, Summer Sun, More Mustard

Ink: Always Artichoke (Palm Tree Edges), Creamy Caramel (Sand), Chocolate Chip

End of the Year Teacher Gift

Here is the gift I put together from the PreK class for Brady's teacher this year. I used the Scrappin' Kit from a couple years back. I decorated a paint can, and the goodies inside include: Gold Canyon Candle (my sister sells these, her website is on my sidebar), altered jr. legal pad cut in half, Pix Pen with their class picture in it, giant paper clip, scrapbook with rub-ons on the outside (I didn't want to publish all the kid's pictures, but you will see my son's page below), set of 6 notecards with her initial on it, and a gift card and holder.

May weSTAMP Swaps

This is the make and take project we did at our weSTAMP meeting. I found the birdhouse pattern on Nicole Heady's blog, which can be found HERE. I have searched and searched on her blog for the picture, but for the life of me I can't find it on her blog!!! I know it is there somewhere because that is where I found the pattern for this. You can dowload the pattern HERE.

Here are the rest of the swaps this week from our May weSTAMP meeting. The theme for the swap was a "gatefold" card. GOOD JOB GIRLS!!

I was the LUCKY winner of this awesome door prize!!!! WOOOHOOO I finally won! LOL (I have been WAITING to win because I already made a doorprize!!) Rachele made this. Isn't it beautiful? LOVE it! The pen is called a Pix-Pen. She got it at Ritz Camera, which is now going out of business. You can put whatever paper, picture, etc. you would like inside the barrell of the pen. THANKS RACHELE!

We ended on kind of an EXCITING note. Look what came to visit us! My husband actually stepped on it as he was coming in the front door. You should have heard us all BUZZING after that happened!!! LOL

May Swap

Our weSTAMP group met last night and this was my swap. Our theme was a "gatefold" card. The bird idea was inspired by Tessa. You can view her card on SCS HERE. Funny, I wasn't drawn to this stamp set when it first came out, but I have grown to LOVE it because you can do SO MUCH with it! This card is a great way to use up DP paper scraps, too!

I will post the other swaps SOON!!! Please check back.

Cookie Dough Brownies

Oops, I almost forgot! I promised all the gals I would post this recipe from our Girl's Day/Night Out! Weren't they yummy? (I am a HUGE COOKIE DOUGH FAN, that is my favorite ice cream, blizzard, treat! In fact, my mom would make cookie dough balls and freeze the dough balls in a plastic bag. They would be in the freezer with NO intentions of being baked. They were just to eat as TREATS!!!)

I found this recipe on Laurie's blog, Stamping Up North. (I have mentioned Laurie before). Not only is she an AWESOME stamper, but she has recipies on her blog that will knock your socks off!!! (Her recipies are always done up CUTE and scrapbooky-style!!)

So, here is the recipe for Cookie Dough Brownies!! Don't worry, the cookie dough layer doesn't have any egg in it, so for those of you who cringe at the thought of eating cookie dough because of the egg, you can RELAX!! (FYI, I have been eating cookie dough since I was born and I'm still alive.....LOL)

COOKIE DOUGH BROWNIES

2 C. sugar
1/2 C. cocoa
1 C. oil
2 t. vanilla
1 1/2 C. flour
1/2 t. salt
4 eggs
1/2 C. chopped walnuts (opt.)

Mix and bake in greased 9x13 pan. 350 degrees 30 mn. Cool COMPLETELY!

Mix the following ingredients to make the "cookie dough" and spread ontop of cooled brownies
1/2 C. softened butter
1/4 C. sugar
1 t. vanilla
1/2 C. brown sugar
2 T. milk
1 C. flour

Top with a glaze of:
1 C. melted (on LOW) chocolate chips
1 T. shortening

Sprinkle with 1/4 C. chopped walnuts

I put it in the refrigerator to get the glaze to firm up.

May Girl's Day/Night Out Projects

Here are the projects we made this month for my Girl's Day/Night Out.

This card was a case of Amy's card. Her blog can be found HERE. It amazes me how people get SO CREATIVE with these punches!!!

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Inspired by Nature, Very Versatile

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Very Vanilla

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive

Accessories: Oval Scallop/Large Oval/Small Oval/Horizonta Slot Punces, 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon

Jan Sannes did a card layout that I really thought was clever. Her layout can be found HERE. I just substituted some different colors and stamps and came up with this. The picture below shows the card opened a little bit. You can see how the 3rd circle is a "peek a boo" punched out.

This was a tribute to Father's Day (or a masculine birthday card, if you prefer.) I am in love with that faux wood look. I did another faux wood card for our weSTAMP swap last month, which can be found here. (Scroll to the bottom) If you want to see how SIMPLE it is to achieve this look, head over to Dawn's Stamping Thoughts blog and there is a video on how to do this! You can find the link HERE.

Stamp Set: Totally Tool

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Naturals Ivory, Creamy Caramel
Ink: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Creamy Caramel, Whisper White
Accessories: Twill Tape, Screw Brads (I can't remember where I ordered these from off of the internet!!), Ticket Corner Punch, Piercing Tool

The colors I used for the "faux wood" was creamy caramel cardstock as the base. I then ran the colors: chocolate chip, creamy caramel, more mustard, and whisper white ink pads across it.

These dresses are popping up everywhere on SCS! The card I cased was designed by Lisa Freeman and can be found HERE. (Warning her blog is ADDICTING! LOL)

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Very Versatile
Paper: Whisper White, Bella Rose DP, Pink Pirouette
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Large Scallop Die, Eyelet Border/Trio Flower Punches, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Red Brad

This card was totally inspired/cased from my stamping buddy, Nancy Riley. Her card can be found on her blog iSTAMP, which is HERE. I have always loved this design (SCS Sketch Challenge 187). I will be sad to see this paper retiring soon....

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Define Your Life, Tart and Tangy
Paper: Basic Black, Real Red, Rockabilly, Whisper White
Ink: Basick Black, Real Red, Old Olive
Accessories: Library Clip, Dimensionals, 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon

Last but not least, a little baby gift card holder! Susie first came up with this idea, found HERE. I saw THIS version on Holly McMillan's blog and LOVED it! I cased it for this month's 3-D item.

Recipe:
Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Large Scallop Big Shot Die (bonnet, cut in half) Scallop/1 3/8"/1 1/4" Circle Punches, Brads, Buttons, Blue Gingham Ribbon

Workshop Projects Today

I did a workshop today, and these are the 3 projects we made. I like to start with a super simple project while guests are arriving (everyone arrives at different times) and this keeps them occupied, plus they discover EARLY how simple stamping can be!

I know I CASED this, once again, didn't save where I found it. PLEASE email me if it's your idea so I can give you credit!! The only thing I changed was added the score lines around the edges. SUPER SIMPLE card! This is a 3x3 card.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: A Note of Thanks
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Felt Flower

At our weSTAMP meeting last month, Barbara taught us how to make these cute little envelopes with the large tag punch. You can view the make and take we did HERE. I found a tutorial on how to make these HERE.

Recipe:
Paper: Rockability DP, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black
Accessories: 5-Petal/BoHo Blossoms/Large Tag Punches, Jewel Brad, Envelope, Black Grosgrain Ribbon

Last project, I like to showcase Fun and Fast Notes. When there is a group of gals who haven't stamped before (or very little) I like to show a versatile set. Fun and Fast notes is a great set for that!

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Fun and Fast Notes
Paper: Ruby Red, So Saffron, Sweet Slumber Specialty, Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Ink: Stazon Black, Bordering Blue, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Ruby Red
Accessories: 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (So Saffron), Scallop Edge Punch

Mother's Day Gifts

My neighbor asked me if I could do a project with 8 young girls she meets with from her church. Of course, I JUMPED at the chance! They wanted to do a Mother's Day card/craft, so this is what I came up with. We met yesterday and made these. The girls were so much fun, and I hope their mom's enjoy what they made. (Please scroll down for directions and recipies. These are variations from projects I have already done.) The Hershey nuggets fit nicely inside the purse.

Silly Post Today

My mom, sisters and I had our monthly Girls Day Out this week. We put together a heritage shadow box filled with memorablia from my dad's life.
Soooo...that meant going through LOTS of old pictures and scrapbooks.
I discovered that I had the LOVE of cardmaking as a CHILD! I don't even remember making these! I couldn't help but snap a picture of them and post them, just to show you how my cards have evolved over the years. LOL
This card was made when I was 7 years old. I giggle because I am always crossing my eyes to be silly. LOOK at the picture I drew, NOW I KNOW WHY I DO THAT!!
Here is another one. It was a few years later.

Thanks for taking a trip down memory lane with me!
