September weSTAMP Meeting

We had another awesome weSTAMP meeting this month!

We always start our meeting with a make and take. Barbara taught us all how to make a tissue holder. There is a wonderful tutorial for this on Barbara's blog HERE. THANKS Barbara!

The bulk of our meeting was instruction (by Pam) on My Digital Studio! Pam really is an expert in this area, and we are so thankful for the time she invested learning this program so she could teach us!
Here are our swaps for our weSTAMP meeting tonight. The theme was using something from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

3-Mn Demo for weSTAMP

In case you don't know this about me, I LOVE CANDY CORN ANYTHING! So when I stumbled across a blog that showed how to make candy corn out out of punches, I couldn't help but show our weSTAMPERS how to make these! I first saw these on Hannah's blog, which can be found HERE. Hannah's tutorial shows how to make the larger candy corn. I then tweaked it to make smaller candy corn and have provided the diagram below, and the sizes of punches.

To make the smaller candy corns:
First punch out an orange circle with the 1 3/8" circle punch. Then center your 1 3/4" circle ontop of the circle you just punches out. This will leave you with a "ring" of orange paper. Glue it to white cardstock (See picture 1.) The reason you don't just use a 1 3/4" orange circle in this step is because it will become too thick to punch through at the very end if you keep layering full cardstock pieces ontop of each other. By cutting the ring, it eilimates another layer.

Next, punch out a 1 3/8" circle out of yellow (I chose Summer Sun) and glue it to the inside of the orange ring. (See Picture 2.)

Last, punch out the center of this with your large star punch. Then nip the points of the stars to form the candy corn! (See Picture 3.)

September Girl's Day/Night Out

This time I'll start my post off by what I served for FOOD for my Girl's Day/Night Out this month, then onto the projects.

The cupcakes are just chocolate cake mix with Betty Crocker chocolate frosting. Then I made the webs by downloading a spider web picture, putting that piece of paper UNDER wax paper, and then tracing the design with melted white chocolate chips. (I used a frosting dispenser.) I then put some plastic spiders ontop of the web. Then I put them in the refrigerator to harden the webs, Take them out, peel them off the wax paper and set them ontop of the cupcakes! I forgot to tell the gals the spiders were PLASTIC, but they SOON FOUND OUT!!! LOL

The template for the spider web can be found HERE.

I made these little witches hats out of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. The tutorial can be found HERE. However, I didn't mess with sticky strip and just used good ol' fashioned hot glue to assemble it. Each gal got one of these at their work station.

Here are my Girl's Day/Night Out projects for the month of September.

There are LOTS of versions of these out there on SCS! Here is Frankie!

September is always a difficult month for me to choose projects for Stamp Club, because there are SO MANY ideas and I only get to choose 3! (Granted, I'd love to do all of them but it would have turned into an all-nighter!! LOL) Here are the 3 projects we did this week.

This project was totally inspired by one of our own weSTAMPERS, Rachele!! She used this idea last year for our weSTAMP swap. I found the pattern for these test tube treats HERE.

Sketch Challenge

I've been dreaming of this card for quite some time, and thought I would try it out with a sketch. I rarely do sketches, not that I don't like them, but usually don't have enough time to do "onsie" cards. This was so fun, and it really does help to have a sketch in front of you to get you going! This sketch was done by Karen Giron, whose blog can be found HERE.
Here is the sketch that she came up with for this week:

And here is what I came up with:

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Under the Stars, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Pumpkin Patch

Paper: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Creamy Caramel, SU DP (Retired), Naturals Ivory (Pumpkin Stem)

Ink: Brown Stazon, Basic Black, Always Artichoke, Craft White

Accessories: Small Oval Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals

Card is 5"x5". Pumpkin on bear is made with 5 small oval punches taped together.

Birthday Treasures!

I thought I would share with you some of the handmade things I received for my birthday a couple of weeks ago! LOVE all of them, thanks everyone!

The first one isn't "handmade" but it is just too cute not to show you! Isn't this the CUTEST floral arrangement you have ever seen? This is from my friend Jennie.

These hand-made cards are BEAUTIFUL, aren't they! They are from my friends (clockwise starting with upper left) Chris, Cheryl, Chris and Cindy.

These two cards are so FUN and creative! They are from my friends Lana and Linda.

Nancy Riley (blog: iSTAMP) made these hand made goodies!! She also gave me a cookbook from her HOMETOWN! Don't you agree those hometown recipe books are the BEST? LOVE IT! What a fun gift, can't wait for you to see these in person!

Barbara (blog:
creativestampinspot) made these beautiful fall creations. They are so pretty setting out on display!!!! Great fall color choices.

This card isn't homemade but it is HILARIOUS! This is from my friend Deborah.

Hope you enjoy them. Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes!
