Christmas Card 2009

This was our Christmas card for 2009. I knew I wanted to use this fold for our Christmas card when I first saw it.....just wasn't sure how to put it all together. Lo and behhold, Becky Roberts (aka: Inking Idaho) came up with a great card using that fold with a picture, so I totally CASED her layout! Thanks Becky! You make life so much easier with your incredible creative mind!

Here are the two versions. My family preferred the red/green one so that is the one we went with.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas weekend celebrating the Savior's birth!

Christmas Goodies

I wanted to share with you what my upline, Barbara Welch, dropped off at my house the other night. (Her blog can be found HERE.) Isn't this adorable? It is a basket filled with holiday goodies! I love the reindeer theme of this gift. (Reindeers really are the rage this year, aren't they?) Inside the beautiful basket, you will find: dish for dip with a cute reindeer knife, a couple of packets dry dip mix, frame, York Peppermint Patties in a cute cello bag, guest hand towels, kitchen towel, and a beautiful Christmas card! THANKS Barbara!

Dasher Meets Starbucks!

Have you seen these mugs at Starbucks this year? The image on the mug is an embossed reindeer who looks EXACTLY like Stampin' Up's Dasher stamp! As soon as I saw this mug, I KNEW some gifts would be in the making! Of course, there is a Starbucks gift card inside. I made some of these for some of my friends for Christmas.

Caramel Sweet Treat

I forgot to post this from about a month ago! These are little sweet treats with home-made caramels inside. They don't stick to your teeth, so they won't pull your cavities out! LOL)

Here is the recipe for the caramels.

Caramels

2 C. sugar
2 C. heavy whipping cream
1 C. Karo syrup
1 C. butter
1 t. vanilla

Combine sugar, syrup and JUST 1 C. of the cream (for now). Bring to a full boil, then add the other cup of cream. Boil until it reaches the hard ball stage, stirring constantly. This part takes about 30 mn.
Remove from heat, add butter.
Stir until it's all blended. (It will separate at first, but the more you stir it and it cools, the more it will blend together).
Add vanilla.
Pour in buttered 8x8 pan.
Cool and cut into pieces.

I found these glass containers at IKEA.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Holiday Best
Paper: Real Red, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Real Red

Pumpkin Mousse

I made this dip for a workshop I did yesterday. The gals wanted the recipe so thought I would post it here. I like to serve this in the fall/winter because of the cinnamon/pumpkin flavor.

This makes SO MUCH, even 1/2 of this is going to probably going to be enough!!!

Pumpkin Mousse

1 medium container of cool whip
1/2 can pumpkin (15 oz can)
1/2+ bag of powdered sugar NOTE: I use a little more to make it a little thicker. I just buy Safeway or Fry's brand, it is just a regular sized package, same size as the brown sugar package.
1/2 t. pumpkin spice
1/2 t. cinnamon

I serve this with these Ginger Thins by Anna's. You can buy them at the grocery store (by the fance cracker section), and I have even seen these at Walgreens! I think the mousse would be good with sliced applies, too! ENJOY!

weSTAMP Christmas Party!

We had our annual "weSTAMP" Christmas party this week!! What a fun evening, and great attendance! We started out the evening with some YUMMY snacks, then moved onto our "Shoebox Swaps". Here are the projects we made, and the gals who provided the projects.

Melissa's Make and Take:

Linda B.'s Make and Take: (the black is soot from a burning candle, then stamped the image - no ink! - the stamp lifts the soot off! Cool technique!)

Barbara's Make and Take:

Rachele's Make and Take:

We also had a voluntary gift exchange. The only rules were that it had to be hand-made. Two gals can't post yet because they are making more and giving them as gifts, and don't want the recipients to see them here.

Here are the projects, and the gals who created them:
