March weSTAMP Meeting

One of the highlights of my month is getting together with our weSTAMP group. We sure have a great time sharing each month - not only with our LOVE of stamping, but just "doing life together". These gals are truly such a blessing in my life!

Please see my previous post, which can be found HERE. You will read about our swap theme, which was a sketch. One of my favorite things about sketches is you see SO MANY different takes on one drawing. Look at the diversity in these cards from one simple sketch! Here they are!

My swap can be found in the post below.

Check out this AWESOME DOORPRIZE made by Melissa! What a great spring gift, or how fun to do something like this for a teacher, or for Mother's Day! My wheels are a spinning!

Here is our make and take, featuring the stamp set we all got at Leadership! It is called Elements of Style and is available in the upcoming Summer Occasions Mini Catalog.
This card features a unique fold. You can find a tutorial on how to make this on Lynn Pratt's blog HERE.

Home Sweet Home!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry not many posts lately...just got home from an AMAZING DISNEY CRUISE over spring break. Wow I think this was one of our BEST vacations ever! We had so much fun!

We got home Saturday and Monday I had one of my Girl's Night Out classes. Here are our projects! (Lots of CASING going on this month, due to being GONE for so many days!)

You have seen this project before. I made this for our weSTAMP swap last month. You can find details on this project on THIS post.

This is a total CASE of Chat's card, which can be found
HERE. Chat is an incredible stamper! Check out her blog, and you will be SO INSPIRED!

Recipe:

Stamp Set: On Your Birthday

Paper: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa

Ink: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa

Accessories: Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder, 5/8" Pretty in Pink Ribbon, Dimensionals

I was inspired by one of our weSTAMPERS for this fancy fold card. Peggy Powers made a card using this paper and fold at our last weSTAMP meeting. Her card can be found HERE.

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Eggcoutrements

Paper: Whisper White, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Retired SU DSP

Ink: Certainly Celery

Accessories: Daisy Die Cut, 1"/1 1/4" Circle Punches, Dimensionals, Polka Dot Embossing Folder

Beate didi a tutorial for this frame, which can be found HERE. However, I did mine in an easier way. I just put a dot in the middle of the paper and folded all corners up to the middle. Then I just eyeballed the second fold back about 3/8". Also, my square cut out of DP was 4" so it would fit in an envelope.

This last card was a CASE of Jennifer Timko's card, which can be found HERE. I like how the "In Colors" POP against the black cardstick. The layout of this card can be used with many different stamp sets and colors.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Happy Moments
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon Black, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Glue Pen, Dimensionals

Measurements for the color blocks:
Black: 5 1/4" x 4"
Melon Mambo: 5 1/8" x 2 1/8"
Crushed Curry: 1 11/16" x 2"
Bermuda Bay: 1 11/16" x 3"

March Stamp Club Projects

Here are this month's projects!!

The first card the gals had a choice between the 2 versions. The first version is the "formal" version. I was inspired by the card made by Michele Reynolds, which can be found on her blog HERE.

Then 2nd version of this card is a little on the SILLY side. Notice the bite taken out of his ear, and then the saying tag says YUM YUM YUM.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Chocolate Bunny, Tasty Treats OR Teeny Tiny Wishes (depending on which card you make)
Paper: Orchid Opulance, Rich Razzleberry, Naturals Ivory, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Scallop Trim Border (FREE during Sale a Bration Promotion!), 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Square Rhinestone Brad, Curly Label Punch, Bo Ho Blossoms Punch (for bunny with the "bite" out of his chocolate ear), Polka Dot Embossing Folder

To "cinch" the ribbon, it really is a cinch! I tried so many different ways to get this look, but the best (and EASIEST) way is to just open your brad a little bit, put the ribbon inbetween the prongs, and then close the prongs! If you try to tie thread or twine around the satin ribbon, the ends of the thread sometimes come out, AND it is hard to position the brad in the middle becaues it is RIGHT ontop of the knot you just made! I know, this may be too much information on how to do this technique, but thought I might save you some headaches.

The next project is the little birdhouse made out of the Mini Milk Carton Diecut. I first saw this idea at Leadership, made by Patty Bennett.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Wood Grain Background
Ink: Close to Cocoa
Paper: So Saffron, Creamy Caramel, Old Olive, Sweet Pea DP
Accessories: Mini Milk Diecut, Extra Large 2-Step Bird Punch, 1" Hole Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, 1/8" Hole Punch, Spanish Moss, Twine, Dimensionals

For the roof, my pieces were 4" x 2", 3" x 2" and 2" x 2". I made a score line down the center of each of these pieces, then used the scallop edge punch on both sides of each piece. Then I layered them and taped them together before setting ontop of the mini milk die.
Last but not least is a fun simple card using the pages of one of my husband's books. I sure hope he doesn't miss it, the book pages look much better in flower form then in his book on a shelf in our garage. :) I CASED Teresa Kline, and her card can be found HERE. WOW What an amazing stamper!

Recipe:
Paper: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Sweet Pea DP, Any Book!
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 1" Double Stitched Bashful Blue Ribbon, Button, Glue Dots, Corner Rounder

The flower is SIMPLE to make! I punched out 6 scalloped circles out of a paperback book. You can punch 6 sheets at a time because the paper is so thin! Then scrunch them up in your hand. Unfold them and paper pierce in the center with a small hole. Stick a brad through the hole, then put a button ontop of the brad with a glue dot. You can "poof" the flower up again after the card is assembled.
