Back Home!

We are back home from summer vacation!! This year we went to Forest Home Family Camp, which is in the San Bernadino mountains in CA. It was SO MUCH FUN!!!! We already booked for next year, so that gives you an idea of what kind of vacation it was! Here's a picture of us after we got off the zip-line.
So now it is back to REALITY!!! Laundry, cleaning, cooking and stamping, of course!
Here's a card from last month Girl's Night Out that I forgot to post. I remember I used a sketch, but don't have the sketch link anymore. (We upgraded our computer, and it didn't back up properly....I LOST EVERYTHING SAVED on my computer, including the link to the sketch...)
Recipe:
Stamp Set: Chic Boutique, Tiny Tags
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Bashful Blue, Sweet Pea DP
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Small Tag Punch, Bling, Kraft Taffeta Ribbon

Elements of Style Toile Card

This card is TOTAL CASE of Lianne Carper's card, which can be found HERE. She has a fun blog with many great ideas on it!!! For this card, all I did was change the ribbon on it. The background looks like toile with the new Elements of Style stamped on it. We made this card at my stamp clubs this month.

I learned a new technique on this card! Usually whenever I use blender pens, I use Stazon ink, so the ink WON'T run. WELL on this card, you WANT the color to run/blend! I stamped the images in Basic Black Classic ink. Then when you use the blender pens (I used the blender pens on just the top layer), the ink will run and the flowers will turn gray. I didn't even have to shade, because wherever there are more lines in the stamped image, the gray will become darker. It was a fun card to make!

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Elements of Style
Paper: Sahara Sand, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: 1 1/4" Striped Black Ribbon, Dimensionals, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Blender Pen, 1" and 1 1/4" Circle Punches, Sponge (inked the edges with black)

Lemonade Card

I've always loved the lemonade cards that have been on SCS, so I thought my stamp clubs would enjoy making them for summer! They are quite simple to make, but it is definitely a "hand it to them" card, and not a mailable one. The lemonade cup is 3-D, PLUS there is a lemonade packet on the inside pocket.

The Stampin' Up cardstock is AWESOME! You can find this item on my Stampin' Up website HERE.) It is item # 101856, and retails for $6.50 for 20 sheets. While you're there, check out all the CLEARANCE ITEMS HERE.)

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Tropical Party, Sweet Scoops (inside saying), Tart and Tangy
Paper: Yo Yo Yellow, Pink Passion, Whisper White, Cardstock Vellum
Ink: Yo Yo Yellow, Pink Passion, Green Galore, Only Orange
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Glue Pen, Straw, Daubers
To make the cup, I cut out a square that was 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". I made 2 dots at the bottom of the cardstock, about 3/4" on each side. Then I cut the vellum from the top down to the dot, so it is cut at an angle on each side. Then I scored each side at 3/8". Take a dauber and get some yellow ink on it. Rub it on the back side of the vellum to simulate the lemonade. Then, to attach the cup to the cardfront, I taped one side down first, then the other side, making sure I "bowed" the cup so it is 3-D.

Attach the straw with a small glue dot to keep it from moving around. Add Dazzling Diamonds to the top of the cup to make it look like sugar.

NOTE: Many people think the paper with the flowers on it is Designer Paper. It is not! If you use DP, the flowers are going to show through the vellum cup. The paper is whisper white using the Tropical Party stamp set. Just stamp around the edges and NOT in the middle or you will have floating flowers showing through your cup! LOL

Bee Card

You may have seen my ladybug card I posted a while back, HERE. One of my customers thought it would be fun to see a BEE with this same concept, so I thought I would give it a try! Here's the result!

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Thank You Kindly
Ink: Craft White
Paper: Basic Black, YoYo Yellow
Accessories: Large Scallop Circle Die Cut, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Large Oval Circle Punch (for antenna), 1/4" Circle Punch, Black Brads

Cut out 2 black scalloped circles and one yellow one from the large die cut. One black one will be the base, the other will be the wings.

Cut the yellow one in strips, matching up the scallops ends. Tape it to the black large scallop circle.

Cut this striped one in half down the center.

Punch out a 1 ¾” circle out of black cardstock. Glue this to the back of the large black scallop bee body.

Punch an oval out of black cardstock. You can throw away the OVAL that is punched. The part you want is the part that is left on the cardstock! Just punch again about 1/8” higher than the one you just punched. Do this two times to make the antenna. Then punch a ¼” black circle for the ends of the antenna. Glue the antenna to the back of the head.

Attach the striped wings to the black scallop circle body. Attach with two black brads at the top. They will swivel to open and shut.

Stamp your sentiment on the body.
