weSTAMP September Swaps

It's that time of the month again....NO NOT THAT TIME!!!!! I mean the weSTAMP get together, when I get to share the OVER THE TOP projects with you!!! Hold on gals, you're in for a TREAT!
The first thing we do when we gather is our Make and Take. Barbara provided that for us this month. This is what we made. It's a circle purse and the inside part is the mini lunch sack featured in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Our swap theme this month was anything (card or 3-D item) with a Fall / Halloween / Thanksgiving theme to it. Here you go!!!

Tracy's swap:

Leah's swap:
Rachele's swap:
Peggy's swap:
Adriana's swap:
Jennie's swap:
Terri's swap: (by spinning the spider web dial, you can get the candy out of the card through a hole in the back so the card won't be ruined!)
Patti's swap:
Linda R's swap:
Barbara's swap:
Inside of card holds Halloween Hand Sanitizer
Linda B's swap:
Eileen's swap:
Melissa's swap:
Lorri's swap: Posted yestesrday, HERE.
Our 3 mn. demo was given by Leah. She showed us how to make flower pins out of fabric. She used fabric that would melt/shrink by using the heating tool. BEAUTIFUL! Thanks Leah!
Linda B made the pumpkins for the door prize! Aren't they FUN? She did a great job with these!

Witchy Owl

My Stamp Clubs have been swapping from time to time. Last moth our theme was to use the sketch below. I just love Karen Giron's sketch challenges! You can find the link HERE.

This is what I came up with. One of my downline, Melissa, inspired me with her WITCHY OWL PUNCH. Check out her cute treat box HERE!

Recipe:

Paper: Basic Black, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Wicked Fun Specialty DP
Accessories: Owl Punch, Black Waffle Paper (for broom), Large Oval Punch, White Gel Pen

Revised Post with Instructions

REVISED POST WITH INSTRUCTIONS

Here's another card we made at my Girl's Day/Night Out class this month. Gotta LOVE those test tubes at Halloween time!

I CASED the card pattern from Sharon Rivera, and her blog/card can be found HERE. However, I had to alter the cuts for the test tubes so it would fit the tubes I had. I purchased my test tubes from SKS Bottle & Packaging, Inc. (Size: 3/4" x 6")

I also did another CASE on this card! The center circle was CASED from a COOL swap I got at Convention. The gal who made the card is Catherine Sanders. Unfortunately she doesn't have a blog (yet???) but her card can be seen by Stampin' Up demonstrators over on Stampin' Connection. I loved how she arranged the circles, so I incorporated that part of her card onto this card.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Wicked Cool
Paper: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Test Tube, Pumpkin Pie Striped Ribbon (Retired), Candy Corn, Coluzzle (2 7/8" Circle), 1 1/4"/1"/3/4" Circle Punches, Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

The black cardstock is cut to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score at 3 1/2", 4 1/4" and 5" on the long side of the card (8 1/2" side).

Fold the card in half (on the 4 1/4" score) as pictured below. Then make 4 small slits from the fold in the card to the score line. I started about 3/4" from each end, and then cut about 3/4" from that first cut. Then just slide the tube down the cylinders that it makes.

weSTAMP Swap - CRASH LANDING!

This month the theme for our weSTAMP swap is "Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving", card or 3-D. How about BOTH! Here's a 3-D card I came up with. Even though the witch legs and broom stick out, it can all be folded to one side and it fits in a medium sized envelope!

I saw Jennifer Eby's "Christmas Door" on Stampin' Connection (visable only by Stampin' Up demonstrators on the Stampin' Up website). I decided to make my door with a Halloween twist.

Inside of card:

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Wicked Cool, Woodgrain
Paper: Soft Suede, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Soft Suede, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Punches (Decorative Label, Curly Label, 1 3/4" Circle, 1/2" Circle), Brad, Waffle Paper (for broom), Dimensionals (front panels on door are POPPED), Distressing Tool, Daubers

Most of this you can just kind of figure out by viewing the card. Here's a few more helpful hints:

Witch Hat: Scrunched and distressed to simulate the "CRASH", make 3 slits in the witch hat so you can put the broom and legs in this piece BEFORE taping it to the door

Door panels: Dimensionals behind them to make them POP. I used daubers and inked the edges of the door panels to make them stand out more.

Broom: Stick is 2 3/4" x 1/8" wide. Broom end is waffle paper wrapped around the end a couple times, then cut to make the fringes. I just used Tombo glue to attach it to the broom end. Scrunch the end that is closest to the broom.

Witch Legs: Legs are 2" x 3/8" and cut out of black cardstock. I cut tiny strips of orange paper and glued them to the legs to make her stockings. Stick the legs into the witch hat slits that you already cut and tape to the back side of witch hat. Bend the legs so they stick out perpendicular to the door.

Witch Feet: If you have Google Reader, you can upload the feet (and 1/2 circle window on door) HERE. I cut out 2 feet per leg so it looks good on both sides. The witch leg is sandwiched inbetween the 2 feet. To make the buckle, cut 4 squares 1/4" x 1/4" out of Elegant Eggplant. Then 2 smaller black squares to go inside the buckle. I used 2 buckles per shoe, again, so it looks good on both sides.

Door Knob: Punch 1/2" circle out of Chocolate Chip paper, then pierce a brad through the circle. Attach to door front with a glue dot.

Here's a fun Halloween gift, the little witch ornament matches the stamp set! I found the ornament at Kirklands and just had to make something to go with it!

Mario!

Look at Mario, who is made out of punches!! Terri Guymon (one of my friends AND downline) made this, can you believe it? Mario is a refrigerator magnet, and was included in a birthday thank you card to our son. I have had many requests on what punches Terri used, so she GRACIOUSLY sent me a "recipe". Here it is!! (Thanks Terri!)

Here is Luigi!

Terri's son turned 7 and she threw an AMAZING birthday party with a Mario theme. I wish you could see the photos of the birthday party! A big semi truck was converted into a GAME TRUCK, and was there for 14 boys to play video games. (Their website is HERE.)

Terri made a mushroom cake and mushroom cupcakes. One of their party favors was a small white box with question marks stamped all over it, with GOLD CHOCOLATE COINS inside. EVERYTHING went with her theme. Here is a photo of her cake. Her cake was even featured on the COOLEST BIRTHDAY CAKE website, which can be found HERE.

This was the most creative little boys birthday party I have EVER SEEN! GREAT JOB TERRI!! Move over Martha Stewart!!!

Halloween Treat Bag

Here is one of the projects from Stamp Club this month. This was our "fast and easy" project! It's hard to see but I used the spider web embossing folder on the black bag. It embosses ALL LAYERS, so every side of this is covered in WEB! VERY COOL!

Recipe:

Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive
Accessories: 1/4” Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon, 1/8” Hole Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Spider Web Embossing Folder

Lego Card

Brady was invited to a friend's birthday this weekend. (Of course, he always picks out gifts that HE, as in Brady, would like to HAVE.....LOL) He chose a Star Wars lego set to give as the gift, so of course, that meant a coordinating card!

I think this is the fastest easiest card I have ever made in my life!
Recipe:
Stamp Set: On Your Birthday
Paper: Pacific Point
Ink: Pacific Point, Basic Black
Accessories: Daubers, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Miniature Desks Tutorial For Sale!

You may have seen these desks on SCS. I didn't create the original idea. They are quite easy to make if you have the Matchbox die. All you do is fold the diecuts into boxes and then stack them.

However, what if you DON'T OWN the Matchbox die? You can still make these desks! I have another tutorial ready to go!

The desk posted here has more of an "office" feel to it. (Plus you can make it look masculine and turn it into a gift for the "man" in your life!) I have stuffed the drawers with chocolate, paper clips, and desk type items. You may want to include a small gift card to your friend's favorite restaurant, or a Starbucks giftcard in one of the drawers. You can get creative with the computer screen and stamp or write your own personal message on it.

You may remember my "stamping" desk from a week ago. You can see the post HERE. There will also be instructions on how to make this desk, too!

In this tutorial, you will receive instructions on how to construct the desk (without the Matchbox die), plus how to make all the accessories shown. Many of the items you just cut out from the printed pdf. But other items, such as the 3-D items, you will receive instructions on how to make them.

Miniature Desk Tutorial $3.95
