Non-Stamping Related (but just as good!)

It's been an exciting week in the Heiling Household! Our daughter, Brittany, got asked her hand in marriage on Sunday!! We are SO EXCITED! Here are some photos capturing the BIG EVENT! For you romantics out there, read on to hear the proposal!

Brittany and Blake attended a singles retreat last weekend. This was the SAME retreat where they met exactly a year ago! It was held in Williams, AZ, at a camp owned by Young Life.

Since Blake was in charge of putting on the retreat, Brittany knew he would be BUSY during it. Blake told her that he had hand written 100 reasons why he loved Brittany, and he would be sharing these with her throughout the weekend. He had 4 envelopes, each containing a list with 25 reasons, and read them to her throughout the weekend. Brittany thought that was so sweet because, like I said, Blake was so busy making sure the retreat flowed smoothly, that Brittany was impressed that he still found time to make her feel special up there.

On the last day, after the 400+ campers left to go home, there was some clean up work that still needed to be done. Brittany and Blake were sitting in front of the lodge of the camp in a big rocking chair, overlooking the mountains. Blake pulled out the last envelope and proceeded to read the last 25 reasons that he loved Brittany. As he read them to her, they reminisced, laughed and enjoyed talking about all of them. Blake got to number 99, which said, "When we went ring shopping and found that beautiful ring setting".......then onto number 100....."The look on your face when I pull out that ring and ask you to marry me." Blake then proceeded get down on one knee, pull out the ring, and ask Brittany for her hand in marriage!!

Isn't that a sweet, romantic story??? I LOVE it! The proposal was so special and very thought out. We are so excited for Blake to join our family! What a BLESSING! No more details yet, just basking in the exciting news!

Thanks for letting me share the excitement with you!!!

May weSTAMP

The weSTAMP downline meeting this month was SO MUCH FUN! We took a break from our regular agenda to have a Girl's Night Out with movie themed projects! Here are the items we made! (You can read more about these projects on a previous post HERE.) There is a popcorn box treat holder, cupcake holder, gift card holder with a flapper that actually moves up and down, and a matching envelope.

The weSTAMPERS were invited to wear their jammies or comfy clothes for the "Girl's Night Out" movie themed evening. We played a chick flick (The Notebook) in the background, and had LOTS of yummy food as you can see below! Get a load of the cake pops in the popcorn bucket that Terri made! They were to DIE FOR!! (OOOOoooohhhh I just remembered we have a stamp that says that, my wheels are turning! LOL)

Our swaps this month were to make something (card or 3-D) using products from the Summer Mini Catalog. Here they are!

Terri's swap: (You can't see, but the two flowers have tiny clothespins behind them so you can clip photos or gift cards to them!)

Norene's swap:

Eileen's swap:

Maggie's swap:

Patti's swap:

Melissa's swap:

Michelle's swap: (Michelle's swap was featured on Brandy's blog HERE!)

Kathy's swap:

Stephanie's swap:

Linda R's swap:

Jennie's swap:

Jennie's card also has a bookmark attached to it that slides out from the top! CLEVER!

Lorri's swap: (you can read more details on this post HERE.)

Leah made the doorprize for this evening. Isn't this amazing? It is a chalkboard in a frame! BEAUTIFUL!!! The magnets have Stampin' Up images in them with flat glass marbles ontop of them.

weSTAMP Swap

Here's my weSTAMP swap for this month. Our theme was to use something from the Summer Mini Catalog. The surf boards and paper used for the convertible are from the Summer Mini. More photos to follow in the next day or two of the rest of the swaps!

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Summer Splash, Loads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories, Plant Hope
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Beyond the Garden DP, Sahara Sand
Ink: Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Poppy Parase, Pear Pizzaz, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Brayer, Dimensionals, White Gel Pen, 1" Circle Punch

The car has dimensionals behind it so it has a 3-D effect.

Here is another version of the card. I always have my family vote on my cards to see their preference. They liked the top card better - so that is the one I mass produced for the swap.

Wedding Cake Card

This is one of my Girl's Day/Night Out cards from this month. This card is much prettier in real life! The camera just doesn't capture the details on the "frosting" part of the cake!

One of my downline (Linda Rodenberg) did a version of this card HERE. She used beautiful RICH colors! It's amazing the different looks you can get with the same card, just changing the colors!

I LOVED the made by Linda Aarhus
HERE. I changed the colors and here is!

The "O" in the word do has a rhinestone in it, which is hard to see here.

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Word Play (30% off until the end of the month!! Only $20.27 for the clear mount! You can go to my SU website and order HERE.)

Paper: Very Vanilla

Ink: Basic Black

Accessories: Elegent Linda Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestone, Basic Pearls, Paper Crimper, Bo Ho Blossoms Punch, Dimensionals

The dimensions for the cake are:

Bottom Layer: 2 3/4" x 1 1/2"

Middle Layer: 2 1/4" x 1 1/2"

Top Layer: 1 3/4" x 1 1/2"

Crimped strip is 1/4" wide.

I "built" the cake on a 4" x 1 1/4" piece of scrap cardstock. That way it is easier to put dimensionals behind the cake piece and attach it to the front of the card.
