weSTAMP Swaps

What a fun gathering we had this month for weSTAMP! We have quite a few new gals joining our group, that is SO EXCITING!

We always start the evening off with a make and take. Stephanie came up with this fun little Halloween project! It features a medallion and would make a cute wine bottle tag or fun to hang on a cabinet knob or door! THANKS STEPHANIE!

The theme for our swap was to use something from the new Holiday Mini Catalog. Here are this month's swaps!

Linda T's swap:

Melissa's swap:

Would you like to be a part of this incredible group, weSTAMP? All you have to do is sign up during this awesome promotion by Stampin' Up! You can receive the Big Shot FREE, or (if you already own it!) you can choose an EXTRA $100 in free products!! Even if you're not local, you can still join in on the fun and participate with us! We have swaps that are open to anyone who is in weSTAMP!

I joined Stampin' Up about 5 1/2 years ago. My biggest fear was how I was going to make the $300 minimum every quarter! My deciding factor was that I knew I was going to purchase things whether I bought wholesale or retail. So why not get the starter kit and get a jump start on awesome products at a discounted price? I signed up and even 5 1/2 years into it, I am just as excited about Stampin' Up as the day I signed up! I hope you will consider this opportunity, but time is running out! The deadline is Monday, Oct. 31st. You can sign up on my online demonstrator site HERE.
Feel free to email me if you have ANY questions, or just want to chat about what is involved with being a demonstrator. Remember, you don't have to hold workshops or classes! You can sign up just for the discount and be a hobbyist demonstrator! Also, minimums aren't due until March 31st, 2010, if you decide to continue your demonstratorship.

Witch's Broom

Here's a fun little way to use those awesome cellophane bags that are in the Holiday Mini Catalog! They are so affordable! Only $2.50 for 50 bags!

To make the broom, I purchased mini bags at a local craft store. Cut the top off so the edges are even, and cut about 1/8" off the bottom just above the fold line.

Trim the bag from the top edge down about 1". Cuts should be about 1/8" apart. Trim the bag again from the bottom edge (edge where you just cut off the fold). Trim this side up so it is about 1/2" from the other trims you just made.

Stuff the cellophane bag with your goodies, then tie the broom end around the bag. Gather it together, and tie with 1/8" taffeta ribbon. Voila!

Thanksgiving Card

Here is a Thanksgiving card that we made at Stamp Club this month! I saw the turkey made out of the bird punch a year ago on Lynn Pratt's blog HERE. I am amazed at her creativity!!! I was done with my Thanksgiving classes when I saw this last year, so I have waited all year to make this! Here's my version:
Recipe:
Stamp Set: Grateful Greetings (inside sentiment is the Thanksgiving saying from that set)
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Soft Suede
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: Bird Punch (see below), Owl Punch, Baker's Twine, Dimensionals, 2 3/8" Scallop Punch, Modern Label Punch, 1 3/8" Square Punch, Striped Embossing Folder (Very Vanilla is done with this, it's hard to see here), 5/8" Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon

Here is a photo of how the bird is punched. Once you are done punching it out, ink the edges with Soft Suede. The leg bone of the turkey is the foot on the Owl Punch.
